Budget Stabilization

“There is widespread agreement that municipalities do not have sufficient revenue,
sources to meet their growing expenditure responsibilities”

Parliament of Canada – June 2007

Every year, many North American public organizations face an unrelenting increase in building infrastructure renewal and expansion costs.  Infrastructure portions of operational and capital budgets are becoming harder and harder to balance, and some of the choices each organization faces are either to delay much-needed new building projects, decrease facility management budgets, or decrease competing budget offerings, with none of the alternatives being attractive. Much-needed building renewal and expansion projects are often just delayed. For many organizations, there is a significant pent-up demand for the development or upgrading of building infrastructure assets. There are significant impediments to change within the infrastructure sector and current models of dealing with building infrastructure assets do not address these impediments.

Now there is new way forward to bring stability to the infrastructure portion of operating and capital budgets all while vastly improving building infrastructure. The IGNITE Sustainable Communities Program offers unique project funding modeling packages that not only delivers long term budget stability, but also accelerates capital projects.

A membership with the IGNITE Infrastructure Association provides tools not available anywhere else and brings these tools all together into one single program. Budget stability and infrastructure renewal and expansion at the same time – a winning combination!
